    Liquid waterproofing
Liquid roofing systems offer excellent protection for both repairs and refurbishment applications, as they effectively encapsulate the surface they are applied to. By doing so, these systems preserve the existing roofing structure and provide enhanced weather resistance, shielding it from the elements. An additional advantage of this repair method is that it does not involve hot works, ensuring a safer and more efficient process.

    High performance felt systems

The cost of fixing this system is relatively low, making it a budget-friendly option. However, over time, certain issues may arise, such as tears, cracks, bubbling, blistering, and ponding. These problems are often a result of poor installation; nonetheless, they can be effectively addressed and reinforced without causing any inconvenience.

    Create larger outlets

Efficient water management is crucial for the longevity of a building. Rainfall onto flat roofing areas need to be correctly managed to ensure maximum protection against water ingress. The type of outlets required should be tailored to the specific requirements of the flat roof. These range from vertical outlets that drain through the building, or parapet outlets which discharge through a pipe, this can be either internal or external to the roof.

    Damaged timbers/ batten replacement
Rotten/split timbers or battens have little strength and depending on the scale, can lead to a serious problem. This needs to be rectified in the first instance, both battens and timbers can be cut out and replaced with new ones as this can cause damp and mould issues which can lead to health risks.

    Felt replacement
Holes and tears in the felt can become apparent on pitched roofs, this then allows water ingress into the property causing damage over time. More recently breathable felt has been recommended to provide an additional layer of water proofing underneath tiles or slates. A small area can be patched at a low cost depending on access to the repair.

    Repointing verge
The roof verge will need to be stripped and re-bedded with motor or repointed if it’s a slate roof. This is generally a straightforward repair. An alternative for persistent issues is replacing the original verge with a dry verge system in place of motor points. This will give your roof verge extra protection. The dry verge system is long lasting and practically maintenance free as well as having an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

    Damaged lead replacement
Lead works is a practice which has been part of roofing applications for centuries. Lead is used to create weathertight coverings on numerous buildings. Small cracks may be able to solder shut or welded with a lead patch, sometimes a full replacement of lead to the area is advised. Patching cracked lead with other materials such as felt, or flashing is only a temporary solution.

    Re-dress
The original lead should be accessed by a professional who will either suggest a renewal or spot repair. Lead flashing sits between joints to create a durable and watertight seal. Lead is one of the most important ways to reinforce a roofing joint or upstand. Lead can be cut to size and moulded around complex shapes while retaining its strength and durability.
